Before they burn the world
I want to see the lights of Las Vegas
Gaze upon the Grand Canyon
Feel the heat of Yellowstone
Laugh like a kid at Disney Land
Walk among the Redwoods
Climb Mt Rainer one more time
Laugh with my friends
Before they burn the world
I want to skate on Canada's wild ice
Hop a plane to the Motherland and weep as I feel its dirt pass through my hands
Watch the sunrise in Morocco and sip tea as I watch it set in Spain
Feel the wind through my locs as I ride a bike through Lisbon
Be the source of teenage cringe as I pose like a shameless tourist in front of the Eiffel Tower And taste the remnants of a chocolate croissant on my rouge-stained lips
Before they burn the world
I want to howl at the moon in the land of the Celts on All Hallows Eve and feel the crisp autumn air fill my lungs as I run through the Irish countryside
Chill my flesh to the bone as I get caught in the rain on a dreary London day and sip tea by a fire to warm my weary soul
Dance under the northern lights on a cold Icelandic night
Get swept away by cherry blossoms as the sound of taiko drums punctuate my existence
Before they burn the world
I want to watch the sunrise on a new year surrounded by those I love and those I will love, and learn to call the world my home so I can write sonnets to it when it's gone…
